Wine trends in Chile

In the weekend supplement Wikén of Chilean morning newspaper El Mercurio last weekend, we found an interesting article about the Chilean wines that will be launched during this autumn/winter season.

The development and improvement of the Chilean wines during the last 20 years has created a lot of attention among the Chileans themselves. In the weekend supplement of daily newspaper El Mercurio, Patricio Tapia writes about some of the wines that will be launched in Chile during April-August, the autumn/winter season. Among them there are some wine producers that are well known to the Swedish consumer, as Santa Carolina and Tabalí.

The mentioned wines are the following:

Gran Estate Selection Casas Del Bosque, Casablanca The top wine of the producer, a red wine with all carachteristics and properties of a cool climate red. Launched in August.	Sol de Sol Pinot Noir Viña Aquitania, Traiguén Described as possibly one of the best Chilean pinot noir. Launched in April.	Specialties Santa Carolina New line that will present novelties each season, as Syrah Coastal Hills 2009 from Leyda, in a couple of months.
Herencia Santa Carolina A carmenere that is worth attention for its potential, writes Patricio Tapia. Launched in April.	Neblus 2007 Syrah Merlot Viña Casablanca 90 % syrah and 10 % merlot makes Neblus 2007.	Sauvignon Blanc Reserva Especial 2009 Tabalí, Limarí Wine from Valle de Limarí, 12 kilometres from the ocean. The same producer is expected to launch a spectacular chardonnay and a pinot noir that will  classify as one of the best.
